About Lyndajoy
Lyndajoy began her career as a stress coach nearly two decades ago when, during her husband’s illness and eventual death, she searched for ways to reduce her chronic stress and exhaustion. Her quest led to Yoga, breathing and meditation practices which she shared with individuals and groups since 1992.
More recently she discovered the hallmark of the StressRx program, a system developed by researchers and tested by independent organizations such as universities, hospitals and corporations. Storer became a Licensed Provider through HeartMath® LLC, adding to her credentials and building upon her already vast knowledge of stress management techniques and practices.
She now incorporates this system with Yoga and other research-validated techniques to help others achieve the ability to thrive in an environment where the stresses of everyday life overwhelm and exhaust even the hardiest of people.
Background
Lyndajoy earned a bachelor’s in Education at the University of Miami and has combined her love of teaching and desire to help people throughout her career.
In 1999, after a long career as a marketing and fundraising consultant specializing in non-profit organizations, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and served within the Silent Unity ministry, praying with callers from all over the world. While at Unity she developed the Women’s 12-Step Forgiveness Program to help women move through the blocks to being able to live fulfilling lives due to traumatic life experiences. Discovering an innate ability to assist people in their search for fulfillment, Lyndajoy enrolled in an interfaith ministerial program and was ordained in 2001.
She moved to the rural Missouri Ozarks in 2001 to manage a holistic healing center where she also taught Yoga and co-presented workshops with the founder. While at Heartland, she began teaching Yoga to the local population in addition to those attending the center’s programs. There had never been Yoga classes offered in the region and the response was slow but positive.
“Lyndajoy is an absolute delight to work with — she’s compassionate, insightful and you never feel judged. You can tell she ‘walks her talk.”
–P. Cook, CEO, Enhanced Global Services
In 2003 Lyndajoy opened the Center for Joyful Living on the town square, which offered Yoga as well as a host of mind/body and stress management classes and services. While in Missouri, Lyndajoy founded the Ozark Yoga Alliance, a group of certified Yoga teachers who traveled around the Ozarks offering classes in remote areas. She was also invited by Arkansas State University at Mountain Home, Arkansas to join the adjunct faculty and taught classes in the university’s community outreach program. By the time Lyndajoy left the Ozarks region she had recruited enough Yoga teachers to leave her students in able hands. Some think she created a Yoga vortex, as eventually there were no less than 10 Yoga teachers in the region!
Lyndajoy completed her Yoga teacher training with Joseph LePage, founder of Integrative Yoga Therapy and one of the first Yoga therapists in this country. She then enrolled in advanced training as a Professional Yoga Therapist (500-hour certification program) and throughout the past 11 years has offered group, semi-private and individual instruction in Yoga with emphasis on balance of the physical/psycho-emotional and spiritual aspects of the person, leading to a healthy, fulfilling life.
While working with individuals in her Yoga business, Yoga for Life, Lyndajoy realized that the main complaint and reason for people coming to her for private sessions was that stress was affecting their home and work life as well as their relationships. As a result, she began focusing on the stress-relieving aspects of Yoga and introducing other research-based stress management techniques. After hearing comments like, “this has changed my life!” or “I used to have anxiety attacks regularly and they’re gone!” Lyndajoy decided to focus on a career as a stress coach and Yoga for Life became StressRx.
